Ciudad Medical Zamboanga (CMZ) was established in 2001 by the Zamboanga Polymedic Hospital, Inc., It officially opened its doors on 2003. The hospital is a private, tertiary level 2 referral and multispecialty hospital that provides quality and excellent medical care to the population of Zamboanga City and its catchment areas.
For more than 18 years, CMZ has been serving the community and taking care of individuals the CMZ way – with excellence, compassion, dedication and commitment. In CMZ, patients come first.

A healthcare pioneer established in 2003 by Zamboanga Polymedic Hospital Inc. CMZ, the first Center of Quality in Region IX, received the prestigious Philippine Quality Award and strategically partnered with Mount Grace Hospitals, Inc. to expand its reach. Notable achievements include launching Western Mindanao’s first containerized RT-PCR laboratory and a DOH-certified Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory for COVID-19 testing. CMZ is a leader in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with groundbreaking technologies. Recognized as an Exemplary COVID-19 Pandemic Responder at the 2022 DOH Hospital Star Awards, CMZ achieved ISO 9001-2015 Certification in 2023, underscoring its unwavering commitment to top-tier patient care and excellence.
2003
Established by the Zamboanga Polymedic Hospital Inc., CMZ was first opened to the public on the 18th day of October 2003. It was formed by leading medical specialists, together with civic-minded businessmen, of Western Mindanao.
2009
We concluded our first ever Strategic Planning which gave birth to our vision, mission, and core values which have been our guiding light towards excellence.
2011
We received our recognition as the first ever Center of Quality in Region IX.
2014
We received the Philippine Quality Award (PQA) Recognition for Commitment to Quality Management at the 16th Cycle PQA Conferment Ceremony held at the Malacañang Palace.
2018
CMZ partnered with Mount Grace Hospitals, Inc. to better serve the evolving health needs of Zamboanga City and neighboring provinces.
2020
CMZ launched the 1st containerized RT-PCR laboratory in Western Mindanao. CMZ opened its Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory which is certified by the Department of Health (DOH), in adherence to standards set by the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) and the World Health Organization (WHO) for a COVID-19 testing facility.
2021
We enhanced the services of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation from acquisition of many first: Robotic Hands, 1st in the Philippines; Lympha Press,1st in Mindanao; Super Inductive System, 1st in Region IX; and Motomed, 1st in Zamboanga Peninsula.
2022
Ciudad Medical Zamboanga received the recognition as an Exemplary COVID-19 Pandemic Responder at the 2022 DOH Hospital Star Awards, being one of six hospitals only in the country, highlighting our commitment to public health during challenging times.
