The Department of Surgery of Ciudad Medical Zamboanga has slowly evolved from offering basic surgical services to intricate surgeries as more specialized surgeons returned back to Zamboanga to serve the local residents.

The Department works at 4 operating theaters shared by surgeons, obstetricians, gynecologists, orthopedic surgeons, EENT surgeons, laparoscopic surgeons, vascular surgeons, neuro-surgeons, and interventional radiologists. From emergency to elective surgeries, surgeons ensure the delivery of accurate, efficient and safe procedures.

During these procedures, surgeons gain real-time computerized access to laboratory, diagnostic and radiologic images via digital monitors through the hospital’s Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS). More and more innovative and sophisticated surgical instruments are also available for a variety of advances in surgery for less pain, minimal blood loss, shorter hospital stay and faster return to normal activity.

The Department promises to deliver more lifesaving procedures like renal transplants and angioplasty.
