The Department of Laboratory Medicine of Ciudad Medical Zamboanga offers the most comprehensive laboratory tests utilizing the latest sophisticated machines. The Department showcases an expanded test menu under Clinical Chemistry, Hematology and Coagulation, Blood Station, Immunology and Serology, Clinical Microscopy and Microbiology, 24 hours a day.

The Surgical Pathology Section, under Laboratory Medicine, is the first among private hospitals in Western Mindanao that processes immunochemistry staining, histopathology, rush frozen section biopsy, cytology and other special examinations like renal and bone marrow aspirate biopsy. Specimens of patients who underwent surgery can expect biopsy results after 3 to 5 working days.

Recently, the CMZ Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory started its operations to diagnose patients with SARS-COV-2 (Covid-19). It is the first among private hospitals in Western Mindanao, to help expand the testing capacity of the region.
